The primary mission of CPCHEA is to facilitate the development of Christian scholarly endeavour in Africa by linking Christian scholars, scientists and institutions in a mutually supportive network in order to be more effective in serving the needs of today's African communities. However, it does not aim to fulfil this mission in isolation, but in a global context. We believe that, on the one hand, African scholars can bring unique insights to enrich the efforts of those in other parts of the world, and that Christian scholarship in Africa, in turn, needs the enriching input of colleagues from around the world

We aim, therefore to promote interaction and cooperative endeavours between African scholars, scientists and institutions and Christian individuals and institutions involved in Christian higher education around the world. One way in which this can be achieved is through participation in the CPCHEA Research Network.accessible from the "Resources" menu.

Central to this international strategy is a close relationship with the International Association for the Promotion of Christian Higher Education (IAPCHE). On the one hand, the support of IAPCHE, including financial support, has been vital in enabling CPCHEA to get off the ground. On the other hand, the CPCHEA Council is the African Regional Council of IAPCHE and the primary vehicle for promoting the mission and vision of IAPCHE in Africa. Find out more about IAPCHE by browsing its website from here --. or make a note of the address (www.iapche.org) for use later.

In addition to this important partnership of mutual support, we also believe that both the online and the print publications that we offer will interest people outside Africa. While focused on issues relevant to today's Africa, they are also relevant to a wide range of contemporary situations.
